TThese drawings of space telescopes and satellites are produced on transfer paper (similar to carbon paper) and are created through a subtractive process, where the pressure of my pencil removes the transfer paper’s blue powder coating. The drawings are then lit from behind to reveal the transparency created through this drawing process. The images, like negatives, are all in reverse in terms of value (darkest to lightest) and left/right orientation.
